Management Development

After working with Brathay Hall's Centre for Leadership and Development Training from 1986, David became founding partner of Learning Partnerships, a Cumbrian management development consultancy, in 1990. There he took a lead role in designing and delivering a wide range of management development interventions within the NHS, working extensively on the North West's Management Training Scheme from 1992 - 2000, and in the private sector. He has extensive experience including facilitating individual, team and organisational development in the NHS, Local Government, Groundwork Foundation, Sure Start, Council For Voluntary Services, Citizens Advice Bureau, The Department for International Development and delivering an open national programme for Countryside Managers. May of these programmes have included Action Learning as part of the process.

David is qualified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and holds a Practitioner Certificate in Neuro Linguistic Programming. He is a registered coach with the NHS Leadership Centre and a Public and Patient Involvement Forum Member with the Cumbria Ambulance Service. He is also a member of the Steering Group for the Development Network, Centre for Leadership and Management, York University.

Recent and current initiatives on change, leadership and relationship issues have involved him in working with a Mental Health Trust, a Commissioning Team for Drug Action, the Institute for Public Administration in Dublin, The Scottish Executive in Edinburgh, Bolton Primary Care Trust, Bradford Occupational Therapy Management Team, Shropshire and Staffordshire Strategic Health Authority, North Mersey Health Care Project, Montgomery High School, Blackpool and AstraZeneca.
He is also contributing to an international change management programme in Holland for the ING Group delivered by Theseus International Management Institute, France and a multicultural interpersonal skills programme for Generali run at their Business School in Italy.
